High potential and gifted education

Some students learn faster and more easily than others. These students may shine in creativity, thinking, leadership or sport.

At our school, we recognise and nurture these strengths early. We support advanced learners with great lessons and activities to help them grow and thrive.

Our approach aligns with the NSW Department of Education’s HPGE policy, which emphasises the importance of supporting high potential and gifted learners across four key domains:

Intellectual Domain: Using targeted teaching strategies and student groupings to provide varied and challenging learning opportunities that develop higher-order thinking, deep inquiry, and intellectual growth.

Creative Domain: Nurturing creative and critical thinking and artistic opportunities and expression.

Physical Domain: Enhancing physical capabilities and wellbeing through activities that build coordination, fitness, and skill.

Social-Emotional Domain: Supporting students’ wellbeing through building emotional resilience, self-awareness, and positive social connections with others.
